This is a medically supervised program that allows patients to drop fat and gain health. Dr. Davis begins with a thorough examination. This includes taking a complete medical history, followed by blood tests to check glucose, lipid, and white blood cell levels, along with liver, kidney and thyroid function. In addition, patients undergo an EKG test to measure heart function. Dr. Davis also performs an InBody scan, that provides a bioelectrical composition analysis, including water, muscles, minerals and fat. With this crucial information about your body, she creates a program specific to each patient.
Board certified in family medicine, with three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Davis uses a wide range tools and treatment approaches to help patients reach and stay at their goal weights. These include medication, one-on-one counseling and professionally-led group support meetings and weigh-ins.
Each patient is different, but some benefit from the temporary use of various appetite suppressants. These are utilized in conjunction with exercise, a nutrition and diet regime and counseling.
Being overweight or obese is epidemic in this country and is associated with an increased risk for dozens of serious conditions and diseases. This include: heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cancer, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis and reproductive problems, among others.
